Purva Ashadha, in Sagittarius, means the early victory or the invincible. Its deity is the purifying water, and its symbol the winnowing fan that separates grain from chaff. It is a nakshatra of conviction, persuasion and the confidence that a cause will win.
The Moon here gives an inspiring, proud and enthusiastic nature, with a gift for speaking, debating and rallying people. These people love freedom and philosophy and are hard to discourage. Venus as lord adds charm, a love of beauty and an affinity for water, rivers and the sea.
Purva Ashadha’s lesson is humility. Its belief in itself carries others along; it needs to stay open to being wrong, and to know when a battle is not worth fighting.
