Mula opens Sagittarius near the centre of our galaxy, in the tail of the Scorpion. Its name means root, and its deity Nirriti presides over destruction and calamity. Mula digs down to the bottom of things, pulls out what is false and starts again from the base.
The Moon in Mula gives a searching, philosophical and uncompromising mind. These people want the truth even when it is uncomfortable, and they often go through losses that strip life back to essentials and then rebuild it on firmer ground. Research, medicine, investigation and spiritual study suit them.
Ketu as lord adds detachment and depth. Mula’s lesson is that letting go can be an act of freedom rather than defeat, and that not every structure needs to be torn down to be understood.
