What Kapparo is

Kapparo is an interactive astrological map. Instead of a flat chart it shows a three-dimensional sky you can rotate, zoom and step inside, with the Sun, Moon and planets placed where they were when you were born, or where they are today. Each placement is explained in plain, friendly language so you do not need to know astrology to understand it.

How your chart is calculated

Planet positions are computed in your browser with an open-source astronomy library (Astronomy Engine), from your birth date, time and place. Place names, coordinates and time zones come from the GeoNames database, bundled with the site. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.

Three traditions

The same sky can be read in Western (tropical) astrology, Vedic (sidereal) astrology and Chinese astrology. They use different zodiacs and different methods, so the same birth can give different signs. Kapparo shows each tradition on its own terms.

Today and the year ahead

Kapparo shows where the planets are today and how they touch your own chart, and builds a year-ahead outline from the planets’ movements (transits) against your birth chart.

What Kapparo does not claim

Astrology is not scientifically established. The readings are written for Kapparo from widely shared traditional associations, for entertainment and self-reflection. They are not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
