Jyeshtha closes Scorpio with the red star Antares. Its name means the eldest, its deity is Indra, king of the gods, and its symbol is the protective umbrella or talisman of a ruler. Jyeshtha is about seniority, responsibility and the power to protect others.
The Moon in Jyeshtha gives courage, resourcefulness and a strong sense of duty toward those in its care, often combined with a private, guarded inner life. These people rise to positions of authority and may feel the loneliness that comes with them.
Mercury as lord adds sharp intelligence and a talent for strategy. Jyeshtha’s lesson is to use its strength generously, without needing to prove it, and to trust others enough to share the load.
