Uttara Bhadrapada, in Pisces, is the calm that follows Purva Bhadrapada’s fire. Its deity Ahir Budhnya is the serpent who lives at the bottom of the cosmic ocean, and the nakshatra has the stillness of deep water: wise, patient and hard to disturb.

The Moon here gives self-control, compassion and a quiet, steady strength. These people are often good counsellors and mediators, able to hold difficult emotions without being swept away, and many have a natural pull toward meditation, spirituality or charity.

Saturn as lord adds discipline and endurance. Uttara Bhadrapada’s lesson is not to withdraw too far into its depths, and to let the world benefit from the wisdom it gathers there.
